Cobalt black pigment is academically known as metal oxide mixed-phase pigment, and internationally also referred to as CICP pigment or MMO pigment, with its pigment index number being Pigment Black 27. Its main components include zinc oxide, cobalt oxide, nickel oxide, iron oxide red, chromium oxide green, etc. After undergoing processes such as mixing, calcination, and micronization, it forms a substance with a spinel structure. Its CAS number is 68186-91-4.
      
It appears as a black powder with a reddish-black hue. It is insoluble in water and organic solvents, and there is no bleeding or migration.
       
It has excellent heat resistance, light resistance, weather resistance and chemical resistance. Its temperature resistance can reach 1200℃, light resistance is grade 8 (with the highest grade being 8), weather resistance is grade 5 (with the highest grade being 5), acid and alkali resistance is also grade 5 (with the highest grade being 5), and it is environmentally friendly and non-toxic.
