Recently, the bright red "safety colored roads" made with Teyuan iron oxide pigments have stood out prominently on the non-motorized lanes at transportation interchanges and other key nodes in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. This is a demonstration project jointly launched by the local Transportation Bureau and Teyuan Pigments, which builds a solid travel barrier for citizens through high-visibility road surfaces.
According to the person in charge of the Transportation Bureau, the problem of mixed motor and non-motor vehicle traffic at urban interchanges is prominent, with the relevant accident rate 18% higher than that of ordinary road sections. Teyuan pigments were selected precisely for their comprehensive advantages of stable color, strong weather resistance and environmental protection.
On-site observations show that the asphalt pavement mixed with Teyuan iron oxide red exhibits a pure and vivid color. The construction team leader stated that the pigment has excellent dispersibility, with minimal color change even after 1,000 hours of UV exposure, making it suitable for long-term road use.
With 30 years of experience in the industry, Teyuan's products have passed multiple certifications, and their heavy metal content is far below the national standard. The pigment has achieved a fading resistance grade of 4-5 in tests, featuring excellent corrosion and wear resistance, with a service life 30% longer than ordinary pigments.
Teyuan adopts low-carbon production processes, reducing carbon footprint by 28%. Its products comply with the EU RoHS standard, achieving a win-win situation of safety and environmental protection.
Currently, 3.2 kilometers of colored roads have been put into use for a week, and the phenomenon of non-motor vehicles crossing the line has decreased by 67%. The Transportation Bureau plans to take this interchange as a pilot and complete the construction of 15 kilometers of colored roads using Teyuan pigments within this year, covering 23 complex road sections.
Teyuan has an annual production capacity of 180,000 tons, with its products exported to more than 40 countries. The company's person in charge stated that they will continue to develop special pigments for transportation applications to contribute to urban safety construction.
